Roman Explorations: Sample Itinerary
Thursday, July 14 - Wednesday, July 20, 2016
We suggest booking a hotel near the Termini Train Station,
which provides easy access to central Rome and will serve as
our daily meeting point.
Day 1 |
Arrival; Theme: Entertainment
- Arrive in Rome late morning/early afternoon.
- Transfer to your hotel (Instructor available to
assist).
- Afternoon: Baths of Caracalla and Theater of
Marcellus.
- Evening: Latin language learning session, then
welcome dinner (price included).

Day 2 |
Theme: Entertainment & City Life
- Latin language learning session.
- Morning: Palatine Hill.
- Afternoon: Colosseum and Circus Maximus.
- Evening: Independent Time.

Day 3 |
Theme: City Life & Religion
- Latin language learning session.
- Morning: ancient city of Ostia.
- Afternoon and evening: Campus Martius/Forum
Boarium area (ancient apartment, Tiber River,
Round Temple, Temple of Fortuna Virilis).

Non-ancient traditional highlights of Rome, such
as the Bocca della Verita,
Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps. Dinner.

Theme: Religion & Mythology
- Latin language learning session.
- Morning: bus to Appian Way and Tomb of Caecilia
Metella.
- Afternoon: Capitoline Museums.
- Evening: Dinner. Pantheon.

Day 5 |
Theme: History
- Latin language learning session.
- Morning: Forum Romanum.
- Afternoon: Imperial Fora.
- Evening: Independent Time.

Day 6 |
Theme: Mythology, History, & Art
- Latin language learning session.
- Morning and afternoon: Vatican Museums, St.
Peter's Basilica.
- Evening: Palazzo Massimo Museums (stunning
mosaics, frescoes, and reliefs).
Farewell dinner with the group (price included).

Last Day in Rome; Return
- Collect bags and check out of hotel.
- Transfer to Rome airport (Instructor available
to assist) for return flight.
